This website explores that question and points out many examples where PSIA clearly does NOT have instructor’s best interests at heart. Please weigh in …both Pro and Con on your feelings on how PSIA has served or not served your needs. Are you considering joining PSIA or are you still a member? Did you let your membership lapse? If so, why?
While every new or experienced instructor needs to make their own decision as to whether or not PSIA is worth the time and money, this forum provides 9 examples to consider as you weigh that decision.
Where are we going with this? Well, this forum can serve as a platform of debate and discussion of the issues at hand. Maybe, together, we can persuade PSIA to revise its policy and procedures and approach to and relationship with its membership, ski areas, ski school directors and ski area management.
If you’re reading this you love skiing and probably love teaching skiing almost as much. We don’t want PSIA to die and shrivel away which it almost certainly will as its membership gets older and older and it continues to NOT serve instructors needs.

PSIA and the certification process needs to be MUCH more than just a personally rewarding individual experience and achievement. If not, PSIA is destined to wither away.
